About
Rick Hunter High Pressure Road Washing
My name is Rick, and I operate the original Back to Black Road Washing Machine. I have more than 35 years of experience in road construction and specialist surface preparation, working across the UK on some of the most significant highways projects in recent years. Throughout my career I have worked alongside major contractors and joint venture teams, including the A1 upgrade with Morgan Sindall, the A14 improvement scheme delivered by Balfour Beatty, Costain and Skanska, and most recently the Carlisle Southern Link Road project with Galliford Try.
I take great pride in working directly with clients from the very start of a project through to final handover. My approach is based on clear communication, reliability and a strong commitment to delivering a safe, clean and fully prepared surface ready for the next phase of construction. Whether I am carrying out high pressure road washing, surface preparation or planned switches, I focus on doing the job properly and supporting the wider project team.
The company holds all the required accreditations, and my vehicles are maintained to the highest standard through SCANIA depots across the country. They meet both FORS and RTC requirements, ensuring safety, compliance and dependable performance on every site I attend.
I operate nationwide because I believe distance should never be a barrier to supporting major infrastructure work. From Land’s End to John o’ Groats, I travel wherever I am needed. My goal is simple. I take the pressure and hassle out of road cleaning, surface preparation and site switching so you can focus on your role while I take care of the work you trust me to deliver.
With decades of practical experience, a proven track record and a machine built for demanding environments, I continue to support major road upgrades, construction schemes and maintenance programmes across the UK. If you need a reliable specialist who understands the expectations and pace of highways work, I am ready to help.
